Wallows are back with “BAD DREAM,” an alternate take on the fan favorite single featured on the band’s acclaimed third album, Model, available everywhere now via Atlantic Records. Recorded at Los Angeles, CA’s famed Sunset Sound during the making of Model, the new take on “BAD DREAM” out today is the original version of the song that the band recorded first before the one on the album. “We love this version and wanted everyone to have it too,” said Wallows.
“BAD DREAM” also heralds today’s announcement of Wallows’ 2025 Model & More Tour, a new series of US headline dates with special guest Deb Never including a performance in Cincinnati at The Andrew J Brady Music Center® on February 12, 2025.
Wallows are currently traveling the world on their epic 2024 Model Tour, with upcoming dates set for the United Kingdom and Australia through December. Wallows’ biggest headline run to date, The Model Tour sees the band showcasing songs from Model alongside a range of alternative classics and fan favorites from their RIAA Gold-certified debut, Nothing Happens, and its top 5 follow-up, Tell Me That It’s Over. The tour – which has already seen Wallows making their debut performances at some of the world’s most iconic venues, including New York City’s Madison Square Garden, Toronto, ON’s Budweiser Stage, Morrison, CO’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Los Angeles, CA’s Kia Forum, Amsterdam, Netherlands’ AFAS Live, and Paris, France’s Zénith – wraps up its sold-out UK leg next week with an eagerly awaited show at London’s historic Alexandra Palace (October 22) before heading Down Under for a series of December dates including Melbourne, Australia’s Margaret Court Arena (December 9).
Released in May, Wallows’ third studio album, Model, includes such singles as “Your Apartment,” “You (Show Me Where My Days Went)” “A Warning,” and “Calling After Me,” the latter of which earned Wallows’ biggest release day streams thus far and marked the band’s debut on MediaBase’s Top 40 chart. A number of cinematic official music videos and more are streaming now at YouTube.
Produced by GRAMMY® Award-winner John Congleton – who previously collaborated with Wallows on the breakthrough Nothing Happens – Model was met by immediate critical applause from such outlets as DORK, which hailed it as “everything that makes Wallows so immediate and a stunning, natural evolution into their next chapter... an album that smashes the mark with laser precision.” “It’s clear that growing up together has allowed the members to fully play in on each other’s best qualities, resulting in a no-skips record,” wrote CLASH in an 8/10 rave. Perhaps GRAMMY.com said it best, noting, “Model helps lift Wallows’ career into a new sphere of guitar-driven stardom.”
This spring saw Wallows celebrating Model’s arrival with a number of high profile live TV appearances, including a spectacular set as part of the Citi Concert Series on NBC’s TODAY that saw them performing “Bad Dream, “Calling After Me,” “Your Apartment,” and the classic “Are You Bored Yet?” before an enthusiastic audience of fans on the TODAY Plaza in New York City.
ABOUT WALLOWS
Wallows – Dylan Minnette, Braeden Lemasters, and Cole Preston – have been best friends since they began playing music together at the age of 11 in the Los Angeles music program Join the Band almost two decades ago. The band made a blockbuster full-length debut with 2019’s RIAA Gold-certified Nothing Happens, which proved one of that year’s highest streamed debuts and now boasts more than 2B worldwide streams, fueled in part by the 3x Platinum-certified single, “Are You Bored Yet? (Feat. Clairo),” as well as the Gold-certified hits, “Scrawny” and “Remember When.” 2022 saw the arrival of Wallows’ sophomore album, Tell Me That It’s Over, produced by 3x GRAMMY® Award-winner Ariel Rechtshaid (Vampire Weekend, Haim, Adele). The album was among the year’s highest streaming debuts, making a top 5 debut on Billboard’s “Top Alternative Albums” chart while earning applause for its vast array of musical ideas, fusing lo-fi post-punk, indie-folk, early ’90s dance-pop psychedelia, and more into the band’s own one-of-a-kind creative vision. As ambitious and successful on stage as in the studio, Wallows have traveled the world with sold-out headline shows in North America, Europe, the United Kingdom, Asia, and Australia/New Zealand, alongside top-billed festival sets at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Reading & Leeds, Austin City Limits Music Festival, Coachella and more.
